Average temperatures in Orlando

Winter (Dec-Jan-Feb)

The Winter months of December, January and February generally provide the most pleasant temperatures in the Orlando area. Humidity can still be on the higher side and rainfall is at a minimum. This is the time of the year when the snowbirds of the north, ready for a break from cold dreary days, visit Florida.

These ‘average’ temperatures and have been known to vary a good bit in either direction. If you are traveling to the Orlando area, it’s always a good idea to pack a light jacket.

Spring (Mar – Apr – May)

As Spring approaches, Orlando temperatures start to warm up. Though still on the pleasant side, rainfall starts to increase and humidity falls slightly. ‘Snowbirds’ begin their descent north and spring break begins.

Springtime average temperatures tend to stay pretty warm – both highs and lows. Record highs, always a possibility can make for a blistering hot spring day. When traveling to the Orlando area, it’s a good idea to pack for extremely high temperatures. Rain jackets, ponchos and umbrellas are a must for your suitcase.

Summer (Jun-Jul-Aug)

Summer comes with a bang to the Orlando area. Once June hits, it inevitable that temperatures will in in the 90’s. Evenings can be on the pleasant side especially if there is an afternoon rain. June is the start of Hurricane Season, so be prepared. Weather can be unpredictable – from weeks without a drop of rain to an ongoing deluge that seems to have no end in sight.

Expect warm temperatures during the summer months of June, July and August. If you are traveling to Orlando, pack lightweight clothing and items to protect you from the sun and rain. If you spend any amount of time outdoors, be sure to put on sunscreen! Don’t ruin your vacation with blistering sunburn.

Winter (Sep-Oct-Nov)

The rest of the country may be experiencing cool, crisp days of Autumn, but in the Orlando area, summer continues on with high temperatures and the highest humidity of the year. September is generally Florida’s peak time for the Hurricane Season.

Expect warm temperatures during the fall months of September, October and November. On any given day it can be hot enough for a day at the beach, or cool enough for a light-weight jacket. It is still recommended that you use sunscreen when outdoors.
